Jerome Connor
Jerome Connor spent his formative years living on a farm in Coumduff, situated
at the foot of the rugged mountains overlooking Annascaul village.
Jerome, the son of a stone mason, spent his free time carving the lime and
sandstone that is abundant in the Annascaul region. It was here that he first
began to experiment creatively and the seeds of a fruitful career were sown.
Jerome Connor is a recognized world class sculptor. Eight plaster
casts of Connor’s were donated as a gift to the people of Annascaul
by the late Domhnaill O'Murchada RHA and are held in safe keeping until
a suitable permanent
home is built for them on the grounds of the Connor Crean Centre, Annascaul.
