Paddywagon backpacking tours stop here and overnight in the hostel attached to the pub. They often hold karaoke nights to entertain the backpackers and the craic is might!

 

Ashes Newsagents

Ashes convenience store has everything you might want including snacks, wine, newspapers and magazines. Their own brand of Annascaul pudding, beacon, sausages and fresh meats are delicious and of the highest quality.

 

Hanifan's

Hanifan's bar is situated in the heart of the village. It's a lovely traditional pub with open turf fire and cozy surroundings. It's also the meeting point for the 'Annascaul Walks' hill walkers club to meet before setting off for a walk.

 

Annascaul Pottery

Call into Annascaul Pottery to visit Zac our local potter. His pottery is magnificent and there's something for every occasion and price range. Zac makes all his pottery the traditional way. Everything he makes is individually hand crafted so you're guaranteed a beautiful, original piece every time.

 

Brosnan's

Brosnan's is our sports bar which will have the match of the day on the big screen. This is very cozy bar you will enjoy a pint here while watching the match or having a chat with your friends in the snug.

 

Herlihy's Bar

Herlihy's is one of the most popular bars in Annascaul. It's traditional charm appeals to locals and visitors alike. Sit by the fire and chat or snuggle into an arm chair in the back room and enjoy the homely atmosphere.

 

O'Donnell's Newsagents

O'Donnell's Shop is a quality Newsagents and they have everything you'll need to see you through the day. For people staying for a few days O'Donnell's can deliver fuel and they also stock calor gas.

 

South Pole Inn

The South Pole Inn once belonged to the famous Antarctic explorer Tom Crean. You can buy the book based on his exploits in the frozen wastes called "Unsung Hero" written by Michael Smith. The walls of the pub are covered with pictures taken on the expeditions. There's hot food served daily, live traditional music every week, step dancing and more. The name sounds cold but there's a warm welcome for everyone here.
